Among the many projects we have developed for our customers in the services sector, we highlight the following:

 

Implementation of a Project Management Office in the IT department of major bank in Angola. Deliverables included:

  • To ensure the organization’s change readiness to implement the new business and project management processes.
  • To implement the new PMO processes and tools and an effective set of KPIs.
  • To support business and IT management team in creating and implementing an effective communication plan.
  • To implement effective Risk Management processes and tools.

Development of two major training programs for two groups of project managers of a major international software company:

  • 60-hour project management training program aimed to train a group of 16 young project managers. The training program included two project management simulations using the simulation software SimulTrain (14 hours) and the planning of a real project (21 hours).
  • 42-hour training program in Project Management and Change Management aimed to train a group of 12 senior project managers. 

Construction industry

Construction industry - Project Management

Among the many projects we have developed for our customers in the construction sector, we highlight the following:

 

Consulting services for the implementation of a Project Management Office (PMO) in the most important Real Estate group in Angola, comprising:

  •  The business case for the PMO, to be approved by the board.
  • Definition and implementation of PMO processes and tools.
  • Two 40-hour project management training aimed to train a group of 12 project managers and a group of 16 project team members.
  • Coaching of the Pilot Project team, to ensure the adequate use of processes and tools, for the project planning, control, and closing (3 months).

Consulting and change management services for the implementation of a Portfolio Management Office (PMO) for a major international construction company. The company has customers and construction projects in Portugal, Angola, Mozambique, Algeria, Brazil and Venezuela. The board decided to implement a PMO with four main objectives:

  1. To centralize all the financial and scheduling information about ongoing projects.
  2. To standardize and discipline the project management processes according to international best practices and recommendations of PMBOK Guide®.
  3. To create and implement a Risk Management program for all projects both at local and international level.
  4. To improve the performance of project managers and other stakeholders through a comprehensive training program.

The project included the following:

    • Definition and implementation of project management processes, procedures, SoPs, tools and KPIs.
    • Launching a RFP for   acquisition, implementation and support services of a Project Portfolio Management System (PPMS).
    • Implementation of a comprehensive Risk Management methodology with effective processes, operating procedures, tools, and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
    • To ensure change readiness of the organization to implement the new business processes.
    • Organization and implementation a comprehensive project management training for all project managers and other stakeholders in Portugal, Angola, Algeria and Brazil.

Public sector

Public sector - Project Management

Among the many projects we have developed for our customers in the public sector, we highlight the following:

 

Assessment of the current project management situation, and implementation of a new project lifecycle, and a Project Management Office, for the municipality of Ryiad (Saudi Arabia). Project main deliverables included:

  • Analisys of the complex current business processes and problems, identification of issues and opportunities around relevant data and systems components, and creatively develop recommendations for short and long-term information systems solutions that integrate with holistic PMO (people, process & technology) solution alternatives.
  • To partner with senior business and other client stakeholders to help craft and execute the new PMO strategy.
  • To ensure change readiness of the organization to implement the new business processes.
  • To procure and manage the implementation of a Project Portfolio Management tool for all PMOs.

Consulting services to improve the effectiveness of the PMO of a major Portuguese municipality. Project deliverables included:

  • Redefinition of the main project management processes and key project control indicators (KPIs).
  • Training services in project management for a group of 12 project managers.

Consulting services to the project of launching a RFP for the development, implementation and support services of an information system for the Portuguese Health Ministry.

This new information system was aimed to replace the legacy system for medical and nursing care system in more than 200 Primary Health Care Units spread all over Portugal.

Main deliverables included:

  • Evaluation of the current system weaknesses and threats.
  • Requirements gathering.
  • Preparation of the RFP.
  • Technical and financial evaluation of the bidder’s proposals.
  • Recommendation of the best fit solution proposal.

Energy

Energy - Project Management

Among the many projects we have developed for our customers in the energy sector, we highlight the following:

 

Extensive training program in Project Management for Sonangol (Oil & Gas company in Angola). The program consisted in fifteen 40-hour training courses for a population of 300 project managers and team leaders. The program run for 3 years.

Extensive training program in Project Management for EDP (Portuguese electricity production & distribution company). The program ran for four years and trained 200 project managers, team leaders and functional managers.
